The result is a product of your decision.

Just don’t make a decision based on ignorance.

Plant a Seed about your Blog Post and get a Buzz

Imagine being able to tell other bloggers about your post, then having those bloggers continue the post and link back to you. By planting a ‘seed’ with a blog post, you can start a Buzz by having other bloggers link back to your blog (which creates better SEO) and participate on the same subject.

Buzz is a social networking product with Google.

If you enjoy blogging, this is an article worth reading. A free membership for 30 days gives you an opportunity to try it out, then pay less than $5/month to continue.

Roost – A new Facebook Real Estate App

Although there is more to come, Roost  (Click Here) seems to have great value to a real estate agent’s Facebook page. You can use it on your Facebook Page or Facebook Fan Page as a new tab. I don’t use my Facebook Fan Page but I’ve added a tab there for you to check it out before you use it. It will expand its functionality but it does not come close to HAR. Check out my Facebook Fanpage here. Desiree\’s Facebook Fan Page

I ask the following questions in many of my technology classes: Do you know your [HAR] real estate website address?

Real Estate Agent

Real Estate Agent

Many students hesitate or are unable to answer the question. This is of great concern to me. Service is the prime focus of your real estate business. This means that you have to not only know how to interact face-to-face, by email and phone with your clients – you must know how to interact with your clients online…with your website and social networking sites. It is important to know what you already have available to you so that you know what to offer your clients.

Some of my students have commented that too much information is provided to the public about real estate. My question to those who are uncomfortable with today’s technology is this: Have you done your research to see what the public really knows and how it compares to what you have to offer them? Do you know the public’s real estate resource – for example, HAR.com?

What opportunities can you utilize to provide a service that goes beyond the information offered on the internet? There are so many tools available to real estate agents today. If you are a member of the Houston Association of Realtors, you have an abundance of tools ready for you to utilize. For example, these have unique website addresses for you:
  • Your HAR website
  • Your HAR Blog; and
  • Your Monthly Housing Trends eNewsletter

As a Member of the Texas Association of Realtors, you should be using Ziplogix, Mongofax, the free flyers that are in English and some in Spanish…and others.

The National Association of Realtors has an incredible amount of resources available to you also. It’s just a matter of going to the website and searching for what you need.

Take classes and improve your knowledge about your memberships. As a REALTOR, its pretty much impossible to be fully effective without keeping up to date with the ever-changing technology. The good news is, most of what you need to utilize is free…or already included in your real estate memberships.
